John Lewis, MBA
John P. Lewis serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer for the UNC Health Care System.
In that role, he oversees financial services for UNC Health Care and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Lewis works closely with the financial officers of UNC Hospitals, UNC REX Healthcare, UNC Faculty Physicians, UNC Physicians Network, Chatham Hospital and the UNC School of Medicine.
Lewis was the chief financial officer for UNC Hospitals from October 2005 to March 2008. Before coming to UNC, Lewis worked at UNC REX Healthcare for nine years, serving as chief financial officer for the last two. Additionally, Lewis has taught English in rural Japan and was a consultant for the strategy consulting firms SJS, Inc. and The Boston Consulting Group. Lewis earned an undergraduate degree in English literature from Brown University and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Lewis and his wife, Carol, live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with their three children.
