2012 Nursing Staff Recogniton Week Nominations

It is hard to believe but the Retention Committee has begun the process of planning the May 6-11, 2012 Nursing Service Recognition Week activities.

 

One of the first activities to be completed is the selection of award winners. These selections will be based on evidence submitted regarding how each nominee meets the core behaviors of the UNC HC Commitment to Caring, using the Carolina Care Model. Each submission must address at least four of the seven core behaviors.

 

 

2012 Collaborative Colleague of the Year, 2012 Friend of Nursing, and 2012 Faculty of the Year. The deadline for these three nominations is Monday, January 9, 2012. See nomination form instructions for submission.

1. Nomination and Selection Process

The Nursing Retention Committee will be the Selection Committee for these awards.

The Chair of the Nursing Retention Committee will provide blinded copies of nomination forms to the Committee.

Using the designated rating sheet, each nomination will be scored by three people.

Scores will be totaled and averaged to determine each award winner.

The Chair and Co-Chair of the Retention will notify award winners, and work UNC HC Public Affairs to disseminate the information.

2012 Nurse Manager of the Year nominations have been extended to Friday, Dec. 30.

1. The Process

Friday December 30, 2011 - Service Line Directors Nomination Deadline

Each Service Line Director will nominate one Nurse Manager by submitting a completed nomination form to the Nursing Department Executive Team no later than this date.

January 11, 2012 - Dr. Tonges' Deadline

   Dr. Tonges will forward the name of the award winner and all documentation to the Chair of the Retention Committee by this date.

January 17, 2012 - Director Deadline

Deadline for the Director to notify the Nurse Manager of their award.

January 18, 2012 - Chair of Nursing Retention Committee deadline

The Chair of the Nursing Retention Committee will send an official letter of congratulations to the selected award winner on this date.

3. The Selection Process

Award selections will occur at the Director, and VP, AVP levels.

The Executive Team will use the designated rating sheets and additional information of their choosing to make the selection of the Nurse Manager of the Year.

The Executive Team will submit the name of the award winners to Dr. Tonges.

 

 

 

2012 Assistive Personal of the Year, and 2012 Nurse of the Year Nominations are now closed.

1. The Process

Friday December 9, 2011 - Staff Deadline for Nominations

All completed nomination forms for these awards must be submitted to the Nurse Manager no later than this date.

Anyone may submit nominations for these awards.

January 11, 2012 - Service Line Director Deadline

The Director will send the names of the award winners and all documentation to the Chair of the Nursing Retention Committee no later than this date.

January 17, 2012 - Nurse Manager/Director Deadline

Deadline for the Nurse Manager/Director to notify the employees of their awards.

January 18, 2012 - Chair of Nursing Retention Committee Deadline

The Chair of the Nursing Retention Committee will send an official letter of congratulations to the selected award winners on this date.

2. Nomination Forms

Nominations are now closed for the APOY and NOTY awards.

3. The Selection Process

Award selections will occur at the Nurse Manager, Director, and VP, AVP levels.

The Nurse Manager will determine a Unit Selection Team for the nursing unit who will use the designated rating sheet to determine the unit nominations for their respective service-line NOY and APOY.

The Nurse Manager will submit the unit nominations to the Service Line Director.

The Service Line Director will determine a Service Line Selection Team who will use the designated rating sheet to determine the Service Line award winners and submit the names of the award winners to the Service Line Director.
