Adult TPN / PEN Service
Welcome to the home page for Adult Parenteral/Enteral Nutrition (PEN) Service at the University of North Carolina Hospitals! The Adult Parenteral/Enteral Nutrition Service or "PEN Service" is an interdisciplinary service that assists with the care and management of patients who require parenteral nutrition (PN or TPN). The service is comprised of dietitians, a nurse, a pharmacist and physicians.
A member of the service is available 24-hours a day for consultation. Page through the WebXchange under “On-call Schedule Search” and choose “Adult TPN/PEN Service”.

The Nutrition Support Nurse is a resource for central venous access device questions/issues and is the discharge planner for adult home TPN patients.
