Rehabilitation Center
Welcome to the home page for the University of North Carolina Hospitals Rehabilitation Center! The Rehabilitation Center is located on the 7th floor of N.C. Memorial Hospital, and has been providing comprehensive quality rehabilitative services for the residents of North Carolina since 1993. We provide a full range of services for people who have temporary or permanent disabilities due to accident or illness. Our mission is to improve, restore and maintain functional abilities in patients with disabilities, to educate health care professionals in rehabilitative care and services, and to advance rehabilitation research. Combining state-of-the-art technology with a patient- and family-centered environment, our 30-bed Rehabilitation Center encourages healing in all aspects of our patients’ lives, providing strengthening of the mind, body and spirit. Under the direction of our physiatry attending physicians and residents, a team of qualified professionals provides rehabilitative services designed to meet the special needs of our patients. Team members include: rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational, speech and recreation therapists; care coordination, social work and others.
