Our physicians are Robert Gianforcaro, D.O. and Charlie H. Foster, Jr., M.D.
Robert Gianforcaro, D.O., was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree in Buffalo, New York and his medical degree in 1982 from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine. He was the recipient of a U.S. Army Health Profession Scholarship and a member of Sigma Sigma Phi. He completed his postgraduate training at DeWitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He became Board Certified in Family Practice in 1985 and recertified in 1997. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Practice and a faculty member of the Department of Family Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Charlie H. Foster, Jr., M.D., was born in Durham, North Carolina. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During medical school, he was selected to be part of the Rural Health Scholars Program which allowed him to work with a primary care physician in a rural and underserved area of the state. He performed an internship in Macon, Georgia at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and his residency in Family Practice in Richmond, Virginia at Hanover Family Physicians, an affiliate of the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Foster's specialty includes women's healthcare and office procedures such as flexible sigmoidoscopy and colposcopy.
