About our Practice
Highgate Family Medical Center is a full service Family Practice that provides care for patients and families of all ages, backgrounds and configurations. We care for newborn and pediatric patients, provide Women's health, including prenatal and obstetrical care, and adult medical care. We can perform many procedures in our office to include: repair of lacerations, skin biopsies, wart, cyst and mole removal, circumcision, IUD insertion, Electrocardiograms, hearing, pulmonary functioning, joint injections and many other services.
Our physicians are on the faculty in the Department of Family Medicine at UNC School of Medicine and admit to UNC Hospitals. If needed, hospital care will be coordinated with the Department of Family Medicine in-hospital team. Our deliveries and newborn care are coordinated in the same manner.
For after hours coverage your calls will be forwarded to HealthLink (919) 966-3820 where trained nurses will answer your questions or refer you to the Doctor on call if appropriate.
We accept most area health plans and participate in most HMOs, please call to verify that we accept your insurance plan.

We will stress the need for prevention of disease and lifestyle modification to achieve these ends.
Active participation by the patient in their own health care and healing is essential.
