COPD- Mucus Clearance
Have you been told you have chronic bronchitis, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), or do you have a constant productive cough? Are you a current or ex-smoker? Are you 40 to 82 years of age?
If you answer yes to these questions the Pulmonary Division and Cystic Fibrosis Center of UNC would like to talk with you.
We are looking for volunteers to participate in a study to evaluate mucus clearance from the lungs and airways during states of wellness and during exacerbations. If you qualify you will receive free study related physical exams, lung function testing, EKG, chest x-rays, and education about your illness.
This study could last up to several years and involves 12 outpatient visits to UNC Hospitals. You will be compensated for your time, effort and travel to UNC.
