Thinking & Problem Solving

Would you like to be involved in research studies?

Healthy adults, 60 years or older, are needed by the Psychology Department at UNC for studies involving thinking and problem solving. $10 to $20 per session. Each study involves looking at words, pictures, or stories, and answering questions about them. Parking is free. Please call 962-2124 or 962-6729 for more information.

Participation involves coming to the Psychology Department in Davie Hall on UNC's campus for one appointment that lasts one to two hours. During the session, as a participant you meet individually with an experimenter and are asked to take a number of different tests that involve words, shapes, or colors, and answering questions about them. At the end of the session, the experimenter explains what our ideas are, and what we expect to find.

Again, parking is free, and you receive between $10 and $20 as a token of appreciation for your time. Most people who participate in our experiments enjoy being involved in the research process and usually find the experiments interesting.

If you are interested, please contact us at (919) 962-2124 or (919) 962-6729.
