Telephone Services

There is a telephone in every patient room. Local calls can be made by dialing 9 plus the seven-digit number you wish to call. Long distance calls cannot be credited to the phone in your room. To make collect, credit card, or third-party calls, dial 9, then 0, plus the area code and the seven-digit number. The long distance operator will come on the line and ask for your billing information. If you need adaptive equipment such as an amplifier or the telephone device for the deaf, please ask your nurse who will be happy to provide assistance.

You may wish to purchase a long distance phone card. Two machines are located in the medical center at Wendy's and in the Grapevine Cafeteria. Pay phones are located in the lobby of each hospital as well as on the second floor of the N.C. Neurosciences Hospital.
