|
Our mission is to improve, restore and
maintain functional abilities in patients with disabilities,
educate health care professionals in rehabilitative care and services,
and advance rehabilitation research.
The UNC Rehabilitation Center Advantage
Patients benefit from our interdisciplinary team of professionals and also from immediate access to UNC’s breadth of medical and educational services. UNC Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) faculty are an integral part of the UNC Health Care System and supports its philosophy of community service throughout North Carolina and beyond. Additionally, our rehabilitation team consistently receives national and international recognition for their excellence and commitment to patient-based clinical care and research.
Additionally, UNC Rehabilitation Center has been reaccredited for
three years by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities
(CARF) International,
a human services accreditation agency. This accreditation represents
the highest level awarded and demonstrates UNC Rehabilitation Center's
commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable,
accountable, and of the highest quality. Notably, CARF surveyors made
no recommendations, signifying that the on-site reviewers did not
identify any areas of nonconformance to the standards. We are proud to
say that according to CARF this is "an
extraordinary accomplishment, only the top
three percent of CARF surveys
result in no recommendations".
