Adult Cochlear Implant Program at Carolina Pointe I

Patient with Cochlear Implant

Introduction

The Adult Cochlear Implant Program is located at the UNC Hospitals Hearing and Voice Center at Carolina Pointe I. Our program utilizes an interdisciplinary team of audiologists along with physicians and nurses from the UNC School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery to rehabilitate individuals with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss using the latest cochlear implant technology.

Our audiologists provide comprehensive cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, mapping and programming of the device, patient education and training, follow-up care, device troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluations of equipment from a variety of Federal Drug Administration approved cochlear implant systems.
