NC Flex Vision Care Insurance
UNC Health Care offers employees vision care insurance coverage under the North Carolina Flexible Benefits Program (NC Flex). The vision plan is administered by Superior Vision Services (SVS). The NC Flex Vision Care Insurance is available to all regular employees who work 20 or more hours per week. Premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis.

The effective date of this benefit is the 1st day of the month after the date of hire or eligibility change. Enrollment must be completed online.

The NCFlex Vision Care Insurance offers a variety of combinations for the coverage of vision exams and materials, employees may cover themselves and their families.

  UNC Health Care employees also receive a 10% discount on frames and lenses at the Optical Shop located in the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC).
