Worksite Wellness Program Mission

Mission: To be a resource (and provide health-related resources) to UNC Health Care employees in hopes of increasing personal health and better quality of life while at work and at home.

Background

• State Health Plan (SHP), working with Brian Goldstein (and others) regarding improvement plans for state employee benefits.
• State Health Plan introduced, “Worksite Wellness” programs; UNC Health Care then began formulating UNC Health Care Wellness Committee.
• First meeting convened October, 2006.
• Cross-section of members include administrators/staff, nurses/doctors; Occupational Health, Pharmacy, Employee Recreation, Wellness Center at Meadowmont, Outpatient Nutritionists, Benefits, Public Relations/Marketing, and Human Resources. Feel free to recommend other members that would be interested in participating; committee meets every two weeks, Wed, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., 6022 Hospital Board Room.
