131 UNC physicians included in The Best Doctors in America

CHAPEL HILL - More than 100 physicians in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine who provide patient care at UNC Hospitals are included in the latest compilation of The Best Doctors in America database.

"I am very pleased with this recognition of our faculty's clinical excellence by Best Doctors," said Dr. William L. Roper, dean of the UNC School of Medicine and chief executive officer of the UNC Health Care System. "This is one more indicator that confirms we are moving in the right direction towards the goal we set for UNC a little more than a year ago: To be the nation's leading public academic health care system."

The Best Doctors in America database contains the names and professional affiliations of approximately 33,000 doctors in the United States, all chosen through an exhaustive peer-review survey that asks: "If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?"
