Clinical and Translational Science Award

New federal initiative to speed benefits of science to patients in North Carolina communities

The North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences (TraCS) Institute has received a $61 million Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) from the NIH.

UNC is one of 14 institutions selected for a CTSA grant this year. TraCS Institute will transform the way research is performed in our state by partnering with communities to more rapidly and efficiently “translate” scientific discoveries into improvements in the health of citizens.
