Program Director
Your interest in the residency program at University of North Carolina Hospitals is appreciated. The residency program began in 1967 with two residents each year in a combined 24-month MS Residency Program. This year we will have at least four Pharmacy Practice Residents and up to nine Specialty Residents. Thus, our commitment to the development of future pharmacy leaders has been sustained and is significant.
We believe our program continues to improve. UNC Hospitals is located on the University of North Carolina campus close to the UNC School of Pharmacy. The residency program is a joint commitment between both organizations. Residents teach pharmacy students weekly. Many pharmacy faculty serve as preceptors for resident rotations and are available to serve as mentors. Each resident has a specific mentor providing regular guidance to them, in addition to their residency program director and coordinator. When you speak with our residents, you will learn that we care about them, are committed to their growth, and are interested in providing career opportunities. The quality of our program assures that our residents have great job opportunities upon completion.
We look forward to receiving your completed application packet. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
