Lost & Found

UNC Hospitals Lost and Found Department

UNC Hospitals' Police operate a "Lost & Found" service from the N.C. Neurosciences Hospital lobby.

UNC Hospitals' Lost & Found is staffed from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday in the Neurosciences Hospital lobby (just next to the Carolina Care @ Home store).

You can also contact Lost & Found at 966-1241 or lostfound@unch.unc.edu.

If you find personal items/property that has been lost at UNC Hospitals, please bring it to the Lost & Found office between 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Monday - Friday. If you find non-valuable items after hours, please hold the item(s) in a secure location and bring them to Lost & Found at the next opportunity. Please call Hospitals' Police dispatch at 966-3686 anytime you find valuable items (laptops, phones, wallets, etc.) and an Officer will be sent to retrieve the items from your unit.

When dropping off items at Lost & Found during regular business hours, please provide the date/time/location that you found the item(s) and any potential owner information (name, medical record or number that you can obtain). Please do not hold on to items on the unit, turn them in to lost and found as soon as possible; this will greatly improve our chances of finding the owner, and returning the items to them.
