Britta Starke
Welcome to UNC Hospital’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Outpatient
Program (ASAP)!
My name is Britta Starke. I am the Program Director and an Addictions Therapist for this clinic. Since 1997, I have worked with families and individuals who struggle with addiction. My graduate degree is from East Carolina University and I specialized in Clinical Addiction at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. I am a licensed clinical social worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. Each of our therapists is qualified to treat co-occurring disorders. UNC Health Care’s motto is “Commitment to Caring.” Our clinic strives to meet and exceed that commitment on a daily basis. I have two primary goals: to provide this clinic with the tools it needs to be as successful as it can be, and most importantly, to help patients feel strengthened and empowered by the treatment they receive here. The first step is yours: Make the call. The healing process will begin with that call.
We utilize a number of therapeutic approaches, and they are as follows, but are not limited to: CBT, DBT, MET, 12 Step facilitation model, and Seeking Safety model.
