UNC Health Care Code of Conduct and Policies
Code of Conduct
The UNC Health Care Code of Conduct articulates twenty fundamental ethical and compliance standards that guide UNC Health Care operations. An explanation of these standards is available in our Code of Conduct Policy (available to employees in PolicyStat).
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to reinforce UNC Health Care’s corporate values and to serve as a guide for moral, ethical, and legal behavior across the health care system. Adherence to the Code of Conduct promotes UNC Health Care’s reputation for integrity and honesty in the community and also ensures that UNC Health Care is compliant with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
It is the responsibility of the UNC Health Care workforce to read, understand, and abide by the Code of Conduct. If you become aware of a potential violation of the Code of Conduct or applicable policies, laws, or regulations, you must report the potential violation to your supervisor, the Compliance Office, or Compliance Hotline.
The Compliance Office authors, or assists other departments in authoring, policies and procedures to address regulatory requirements, identified risk areas, and ethical business practices.
Employees may access Compliance policies through PolicyStat or on the Compliance Policies page of the Audit, Compliance and Privacy Services SharePoint site.
