UNC Health has made a strong commitment to protecting the privacy and security of patient information. To that end, numerous safeguards have been put in place, including the implementation of privacy policies and procedures, an audit program, and privacy education and training for the UNC Health workforce.
The UNC Health Privacy Office has oversight responsibility for HIPAA compliance in the UNC Health System. Our office serves as a resource for the UNC Health System workforce and our patients and fosters a culture that values privacy through awareness.
