About Our Mobile Health Work

Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare. Yet, many in our communities face barriers to getting the care they need, including preventive screenings for high blood pressure and diabetes, and vaccines to protect against the flu and COVID-19.

We’re working hard to overcome this issue and make preventative healthcare more accessible for you and your community. Through September 2023, our UNC Physicians Network mobile unit has supplied healthcare services to those in need in seven North Carolina counties at 127 outreach events.

This effort has provided our Wake, Durham, Johnston, Chatham, Harnett, Orange and Lee county communities a total of:

  • 3,877 COVID-19 tests
  • 8,000+ vaccines
  • 100+ blood pressure screenings
  • 300+ medication distributions
  • 1,000+ personal protective equipment, or PPE, items for healthcare professionals

Population health is a crucial part of building stronger communities. Learn more about how we determine area health needs and plan to achieve them by reviewing the Wake County Community Health Needs Assessment information page.
