Remember UNC in your Health Plan

When you’re thinking about your health insurance coverage, we encourage you to select a plan that allows you continued access to the empathy and expertise from UNC Health Care physicians and practices. When you select a plan in the Health Insurance Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) or for Medicare (medicare.gov) remember UNC.

UNC Health Care is participating in the following Marketplace, Private Insurance, Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. Enroll in one of these plans to continue your access to UNC Health Care. These health insurance plans differ by county.

Plans may also differ based on provider and hospital. Make sure to check your with your specific plan to verify that your provider and hospital are included.

UNC Health Care is a not-for-profit integrated health care system owned by the state of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill. Originally established Nov. 1, 1998, by N.C.G.S. 116-37, UNC Health Care currently comprises UNC Hospitals and its provider network, the clinical programs of the UNC School of Medicine, and ten affiliate hospitals and hospital systems across the state.

Is it too late to enroll?

Open enrollment begins November 1, 2017 and ends January 31, 2018. The Medicare Open Enrollment Period – sometimes called the Annual Election Period or Annual Coordinated Enrollment Period – runs each year from October 15 to December 7. During this time, Anyone with Medicare Parts A & B can switch to a Part C plan. If you have a qualifying life event any time can enroll in a Marketplace plan.
