How can wearables be used to seamlessly galvanize the 50+ population to take the right medications as prescribed?
This event will bring together Triangle clinicians, administrators, entrepreneurs, technologists, patients and caregivers to explore the challenge of Medication Adherence and showcase existing and potential technology solutions.
During this evening session, The Hatchery @ AARP will facilitate ideation and team formation exercises. These exercises will be led by The Hatchery's Innovation Champions who specialize in Design Thinking methodologies and practices. The goal of this event is for participants to form teams who are aligned in their solution concept, are complimentary in skill set, and have no gaps in talent necessary to build upon their solution concept.
During this full-day design hackathon, The Hatchery Innovation Champions will guide teams through design thinking exercises to stimulate the solution design process. In addition, teams will gain practical support and guidance from industry mentors, and develop a pitch to be presented to a panel of judges at the end of the day. Four teams will be shortlisted to pitch on Demo Day and will receive solution acceleration support from The Hatchery @ AARP and The UNC Center for Health Innovation leading up to Demo Day.
Demo Day is the culmination of weeks of ideation, experimentation, and development. It's a day where each finalist will demonstrate and pitch their solution to a panel of judges. Pitches will be evaluated across a range of criteria, including technical feasibility, impact of solution, customer experience, and commercial viability.
