 Employee Ambassadors

Employees of UNC Health Care and the UNC School of Medicine have a long history of giving back to their communities. Hundreds of our employees donate thousands of hours annually to support local non-profit organizations and schools. In order to recognize and harness these collective efforts, UNC Health Care has developed its Employee Ambassador and Employee Ambassador Recognition Program.

As ambassadors our employees learn about a wide range of volunteer opportunities available to them through UNC Health Care sponsored and affiliated programs as well as events. Our employees are also given the opportunity to connect with their fellow ambassadors to promote volunteer opportunities with their favorite charities. In 2010-2011, more than 220 ambassadors volunteered 6,464 hours with local charities.

Employee Ambassador Recognition Program
In an effort to show its support of employees who donate their time to their communities UNC Health Care has created the Employee Ambassador Recognition Program. Through this program, UNC Health Care provides a one-time donation up to $250 to any qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organization to which our employees give 50 or more hours of their time.  This is UNC Health Care’s way of thanking its employees for giving back to the community.
