Brian Goldstein, MD, MBA
Brian P. Goldstein, MD, MBA, FACP, has been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for UNC Hospitals since 2010. He is responsible for the clinical operations of UNC Hospitals’ inpatient and outpatient facilities. Dr. Goldstein was appointed Chief of Staff for UNC Hospitals in July 2002. He has also served as Executive Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Associate Professor of Medicine, UNC-CH School of Medicine. From September 1998 to March 2000, Dr. Goldstein was Medical Director for a multi-specialty physician group. From 1994 to 1998, he practiced at the Marshfield Clinic, a 600-physician not-for-profit multi-specialty practice in Wisconsin. While there, he held multiple leadership posts, including Chairman, Department of General Internal Medicine, and Acting Medical Director of Security Health Plan, a 100,000-member physician-owned Health Maintenance Organization. Dr. Goldstein received a bachelors degree from the University of Virginia, and M.D. from New York University School of Medicine, and a master’s degree in Health Care Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Chief Residency at UNC Hospitals from 1989 to 1993.
Chris joined UNC Health Care in 2008 and is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for UNC Hospitals and the UNC Health Care System Chief Financial Officer for System Affiliations.
As CFO of UNC Hospitals, Chris is the principal financial leader of the NC Cancer Hospital, NC Children's Hospital, NC Women’s Hospital, NC Memorial Hospital, and NC Neurosciences Hospital. As CFO for System Affiliations, Chris leads system-wide integration and acquisition activities - working with UNC Health Care’s Chief Operating Officer for System Affiliations to develop and attain system-wide performance metrics and targets.
Prior to joining UNC, Chris served as the Vice President for Fiscal Affairs and Chief Financial Officer for Appalachian Regional Healthcare from 2002 to 2008. He has held various senior financial executive roles for Norton Healthcare (KY), Columbia HCA (KY), Health Management Associates (SC) and Tenet Healthcare (TX). Chris is a Fellow and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional in the Healthcare Financial Management Association, received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Clemson and an MBA with a focus on healthcare management from the University of Phoenix. In 2010, Chris was recognized by both the Triangle Business Journal and Business Leader magazines as a Top CFO in the Triangle.
Dan Lehman, FACHE
Dan came to UNC Hospitals in 1994 as Associate Director of Planning and Program Development. While in this capacity the focus of his responsibilities included strategic planning, database development and management, facility planning and design, business and network development including the establishment of a network of UNC-owned and operated community-based physician clinics.
In early 2000, Dan moved to a leadership position in hospital operations and now serves as an Associate Vice President Operations with principal responsibility for a number of support and professional services including: UNC Wellness Centers, Nutrition and Food Services, Clinical Dietitians, Supply Chain Services, Medical Engineering, Environmental Services, Patient Transportation, Guest Services, the Service Response Center and the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Clinic.
Prior to coming to UNC Hospitals, Dan completed the two-year post-graduate fellowship program at Johns Hopkins and worked for Danville Regional Medical Center as Director of Planning and Market Research. He has an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University (B.S. in Allied Health - Medical Technology) and a master's degree from The Sloan Graduate Program in Health Policy and Administration at Cornell University.
Rex Healthcare Program Coordination
David became president of Rex in September 2004 and oversees all aspects of the health system's operations and its 5,300 co-workers at six campuses across Wake County. David brings a hands-on leadership style that focuses on quality care, patient safety, technology, physician loyalty and community involvement.
David also serves as chief operating officer for system affiliations at UNC Health Care. In this role, David provides leadership and direction for hospitals and regional care sites outside of Chapel Hill. He is responsible for the development, implementation and achievement of strategic plans and partnership opportunities with health systems and physicians.
During David's tenure at Rex, the hospital was named a Thomson-Reuters Top 100 Hospital and a Thomson-Reuters Quality Improvement Leader. Rex also was named one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine for three out of four years. And, Rex was named by Becker's Hospital Review to the list of 50 Best Hospitals in America.
David currently serves on the boards of North Carolina Prevention Partners and the North Carolina Symphony. He also serves on Wake Technical Community College Foundation’s The Ripple Effect campaign cabinet. He served as chair of the American Heart Association’s 2011 Triangle Heart Ball and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2012 Triangle Light the Night Walk.
He holds degrees from Southern Nazarene University and Xavier University.
David enjoys surfing and spending time with his family.
Chad T. Lefteris
Chad is responsible for construction and design, real estate portfolio, facilities, culinary services, environmental services, ambulance transport, security, customer service, operational improvement, and the oncology service line. He joined the organization in 2007.
He is involved in the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, serves on the City of Raleigh's Unified Development Ordinance Advisory Group, and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Chad received his bachelor's degree in business administration/healthcare management from Appalachian State University, and his Masters of Health Administration from Medical University of South Carolina.
Chad enjoys mountain biking, snow skiing, hiking, and tennis.
