Volunteering at UNC Health Care is a wonderful way to serve others in a meaningful manner, in addition to becoming exposed to the many career opportunities offered in a health care setting. We appreciate your interest in serving the patients at UNC Health Care and look forward to working with you on your volunteer journey!
"College" Volunteers include full or part-time undergraduate students. Most of our volunteers attend UNC-Chapel Hill, but it is certainly not a requirement. Students who are not taking a full course load and whose schedules do not change by the semester can also volunteer under the Adult Volunteer guidelines. College Volunteers register each semester to allow for class schedule changes. College Volunteer areas and times are assigned on a first come basis during walk-in registration. Some service areas have specific volunteer criteria. That criteria is outlined in the College Volunteer Opportunity List located below.
Summer 2015 Volunteer Registration Dates (See Flyer) Program is now full for the summer. Dates for the fall will be up soon.
Dates: May 18th-July 23rd
*Must be able to volunteer the entire time period.
*Must be able to commit to 40 hours of volunteering. This would amount to 4-5 hrs a week. Except for the Memorial Day and July 4th Holidays, you can only miss 1 other volunteer day.
Online Application - Goes live at 10 a.m. on May 4th.
** We will be accepting Freshmen-Seniors!
Walk-in Registration - For those applicants who have been accepted:

Mandatory Orientation - 4th Floor Old Clinic Auditorium; May 14th, 5-7:30pm
*Please make sure that you are interested in volunteering and not in shadowing. If you are interested in shadowing health care professionals, please check out the tab to the left. Volunteering may be working with office staff or in a clinic or working in various areas of the health care system where needed, but generally will not be observing physicians or nursing personnel, it will be providing a service.
