Key Success Factors
Maintaining the valued culture of UNC Health is top of mind for leaders across the organization. The impact of a virtual workforce on culture is tangible. In the pre-pandemic work environment, teammates experienced a sense of community and comradery through conversations in the breakroom, celebrating special events and chatting when gathering around the conference room table. As in-person interactions have ceased and most teammates are engaging virtually, intentionally leveraging technology and strategies to facilitate teamwork, collaboration and a sense of community is more important than ever.
The UNC Health Learning & Organizational Development team have established a Virtual Team Toolkit with information on keeping teams engaged, supporting teammates through the transition to virtual work, effectively managing remote meetings, and demonstrating virtual empathy.
